Pulleys

If ropes run over over pulleys the working life can be extended by the right choice of pulley and suitable wire rope.

The working life of the rope depends on the following factors:

  • Groove geometry
  • Ratio between groove diameter and rope diameter
  • urface quality of the groove
  • Material of the pulley
  • Rope construction

The ratio between groove diameter and rope diameter should be chosen according to the rope construction:
